2016 turned out to be a boom in motorcycle sales with nearly 155k bikes motoring off the sales floor. This was the best record since the boom in 2009. However, according to the FCIA the first quarter of 2017 saw a dramatic dip of 6.7% – yet there has been a mild recovery for the total first half of 2017.
Harley continues to drive the highest overall road bike sales for this half year with 4,433 sales closely followed by Honda with 4,359 sales.
SuperMoto sales are so low they did not even receive a mention.
Interestingly the Honda Grom leads Naked bike sales way above the closest rival the Yamaha MT-07.
Forecast for the balance of the year remains optimistic.
